Staron Tempest Offers Beauty and Practicality
New Samsung collection provides the style of quartz and benefits of solid surface
LOS ANGELES- As demand increases for solid surface and engineered stone countertops, Samsung continues to provide new options for fabricators, designers and homeowners with Staron Tempest. A patent-pending solid surface alternative, Tempest is specifically designed with a look that rivals natural stone and quartz, yet it offers all the features and benefits that fabricators, designers and homeowners demand of solid surface. To preview the Tempest line and learn about a new promotional program at the Surface Fabrication and Design Expo, March 15 to 17 in Orlando, visit the Staron booth, #405.
Tempest is a unique and versatile surfacing product,\' notes Dale Mandell, national sales manager for Staron Surfaces. \'There\'s a new visual dimension with Tempest that is like nothing else we\'ve offered. While it has the look of natural quartz, it still offers the practicality of solid surface, making it ideal for any residential or commercial application.\'
The Visual Difference- It\'s in the Depth
Inspiration for Tempest stemmed from the need for a surfacing option that provides the aesthetic of natural quartz and stone with the properties of solid surface. The result is a new generation of surfacing that offers a unique visual depth through larger, translucent particulate randomly dispersed throughout the material.
Practical Beauty- Offering What Stone Can\'t
Despite its quartz-like appearance, Tempest allows benefits that stone and quartz surfaces don\'t, including its seamless appearance and nonporous, hygienic properties. Additionally, Tempest surfaces can be fabricated in to

configurations nearly impossible with stone, including fully coved backsplashes and seamless integration with Staron sinks and bowls. Insets and patterns can also be incorporated into the surface for added aesthetic appeal and maximum customization.
The 10 Staron Tempest colors include Horizon, Shell, Rattan, Caraway, Russet, Cinnamon, Sierra, Dapple, Milestone and Coffee Bean. In addition to these, Staron also offers 62 colors in its Staron Solid Surface line, 14 colors of Staron Quartz, as well as all-acrylic Staron sinks and bowls.

Staron Tempest
In 2007, Samsung unveils Staron Tempest, an easy-to-maintain solid surface alternative specifically designed with a look that rivals natural stone and quartz. Tempest also provides benefits that stone surfaces don\'t, including a seamless appearance and its nonporous, hygienic properties. Additionally, backsplashes and Staron sinks and vanity bowls can be incorporated seamlessly into the surface. Insets and patterns can also be incorporated into Tempest for added aesthetic appeal.

Staron Quartz
Samsung introduced Staron Quartz in 2006. The luxury quartz collection resembles the look of
natural stone, but comes with added benefits, including color and pattern consistency and a
nonporous nature. Unlike stone, Staron Quartz does not require routine sealing, and staining and
discoloration are never an issue. Its durability is ideal for the everyday use of countertops. More than 90 percent of the composition of Staron Quartz consists of natural quartz crystals-
the hardest component of natural granite.
Staron Quartz initial product offering includes 14 colors that range from rich blacks and browns to a deep midnight blue.
